Popularity of Soccer in the United State

Soccer is the most popular game played in the world, and has the broadest fans ever in a stadium, only soccer can be compared in these modern day sports that attracts a crowd from all over the world like back in the days Colosseum in Rome, and still these amazing game is not really appreciated here in the United States. And their could only be one possible explanation from my point of view. I think the United States can not really appreciate the game of soccer because we are unable to win a World cup tournament, and until these is done soccer will remain at its present state like it has always being in America. The fact that David Beckham was brought from England and paid about 200 million dollars for a five years contract to play for the LA Galaxy hoping to change soccer's popularity in America, has also resulted in a failure from what we could all see. Forgetting that we already tried that few years ago when pele pele came to America for the same purpose, and that only proves my point. And speaking of David Beckham, because of his popularity here in America a lot of people thinks his the best soccer player in the world. Comparing to Ronaldinho of Brazil. Who do you think is the best?

Nice background image for your blog. Here are some suggestions: build a "links" area in your sidebar, set up some feeds of Lakers (and others?) game results in the sidebar, and MAKE GOOD FRIENDS. Build links into your individual posts, quote sports writers, argue with some folks. Any sports-based blog needs to tap into and draw from the sports blogging and sports world community.

I found these two nice ones in about .12 seconds of googling.

I like your background image too, it's nice with the trophy, great improvement.

Whether the US wins a World cup tournament or not we should be able to appreciate the game, and accept the fact that we can't win in everything. I have noticed that if there is any country that can beat the US in anything, they always try to buy them out. I know some people might not like what I said but I don't care.

I don't really keep up with soccer, so I can't say who is better. But you are partially right about soccer failing in America even with those stars. The thing is, many people in America come from other countries, so they watch soccer. American also don't really get riled up about soccer because we have "American Football," which is a stupid name in my opinion considering kicks are only done at punts and field goals, but thats another debate. Also soccer has the world event only every 4 years so the tension has a long time to build.
